Thanks for looking-in on our humble website.

You may be visiting by accident, having searched us out by design ... or having been prompted to do so after buying our product, and having seen our web address and/or Twitter handle on our packaging.

In any case, WELCOME !

Who are we?

Well... with a couple of small apiaries to the north and east of Loughborough, we are passionate beekeepers (LRBKA and BBKA affiliated) who produce small batches of raw, coarse-filtered, unpasteurised honey. As we produce more than we can reasonably eat ourselves, we are proud to also sell our wares locally. In the fullness of time, we aim to supply related products (based on the lovely beeswax, and propolis), but for now, it's all about the honey.

If you have bought some, we really hope you enjoy it. Revel in your purchase! Our honey is:

  • above all, local - in an unashamedly "League of Gentlemen" sense. Feel good about the negligble food-miles and the low environmental impact of your honey. Indeed, in supporting your local beekeeper, you are helping sustain local honeybee populations at a time when pollinators in general are having a hard time of it
  • pure. The product is completely unadulterated, is unpasteurised and only coarse-filtered. This means that all the goodness; the enzymes, the antibacterial properties and the pollen granules remain in all their glory. Behind their marketing BS, supermarket honeys are, to all intents and purposes, a different product entirely. We don't think they can hold a candle to our stuff
  • unique. Unblended, you get what the bees give us at any given time of the season; that's it - punto e basta. What this means, of course, is that the honey we sell will be different in spring to, say, what we sell in late summer. This is because the forage available to the bees changes over the course of the season, and, depending on what is 'doing-well' in the locality (whether e.g. blackthorn, oil-seed rape or rosebay willowherb), well ... that will influence the flavour, colour and texture of the honey, including the speed at which it will granulate (which is a function of the fructose / glucose balance, if you're interested)

Anyhow, we're not going to boil the ocean with this site, but we do aim to:

  1. Keep you up to date with the things we are doing in our beekeeping season, including:
    - updates on product availability (what, when and where)
    - interesting developments at our apiary sites
  2. Provide useful information about our honey (and, indeed, ANY honey)

We hope you enjoy your visit. If you have any questions, please do drop us a line via the Contact Form.

Thanks again,

Craig.
